Spread a Little Kindness

Have you been feeling like the world has been so harsh recently? Feeling like there’s less kindness out there? Me too. Now more than ever, a small act of kindness goes an especially long way. So, I’m bringing you a list of a few simple ways to bring that kindness back.

At home:

  1. If you have a roommate or live with your partner, clean their school/work space for them.

  2. Also, remember how they take their coffee/tea, and make it for them one day.

  3. Plan a dinner & clean it up after, too.

  4. Put a “Thank you” sign up for USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.

  5. Send a letter to someone to let them know you love them and are thinking of them.

For neighbors/friends:

  1. Doing some baking? Make some extras and bring them to your neighbors.

  2. Or, bring them to a friends house and drop them off for them. (Flowers are also a great, simple idea too!)

  3. Running to the store? Ask your neighbor if there’s anything they need (especially if they’re older!)

  4. If you know someone with kids, offer to help them out.

  5. Offer to help a neighbor with yard work, just because.

For strangers:

  1. Pay it forward!! I always get emotional when the person in front of me at the drivethru does this for me. If you can afford it, do it.

  2. Put your cart in the cart corral when you’re done shopping.

  3. Leave reviews for your favorite local businesses. While you’re at it, Leave a review on an items you love.

  4. Say “hello” to people, and wish them a nice day.

  5. Hold The door open for the person (or the people) behind you.

For yourself:

  1. Take a day off from work.

  2. Write a list of things you’re thankful for.

  3. Take yourself on a date (coffee, to the park, or if you’re like me-to the planetarium; yes, I did do that a couple of weekends ago!)

  4. If means allow, spruce up your space. Add some throw pillows to your living room, or a new plant to your kitchen. (Need other inspo? Turn back to a recent post I did about decorating- https://www.cozilycaffeinated.com/post/simple-home-sprucing-my-favorite-décor-hacks )

  5. Take that nap. I know you want to...

Acts of kindness don’t have to be big. Or they can be, if you want them to be. No matter how big or small, remember-it goes a long way.
