Got Cabin Fever?
Updated: Feb 23, 2020

Are you imagining warmer weather and longer days? Well, I know I am! I am definitely starting to feel the cabin fever kick in, which says a lot because I am queen of the homebodies! Luckily we're already 1/2 way through February, which means those longer and warmer days are in sight! But in the meantime, lets kick the last of this cabin fever together!
*Get outside when you can* When it's not below freezing, put on your winter gear and get that fresh air! Even a 10 minute walk on lunch or with the dog when you get home counts! (Plus this is a good chance to get said dog some exercise and fresh air, too!) Even this time of year that little bit of fresh air (and if it's sunny that Vitamin D) can be a total boost! Also, bringing your work or a book to a coffee shop counts!
*Learn a new hobby or set a new goal* If you're stuck inside for a few months (in the Northeast at least) you might as well make the most of it! Cooking, drawing, knitting, even reading. There are classes, which is a bonus way to get out off the house, or if you don't want to leave the house, thank goodness for Google! Setting a goal could even mean finally reorganizing that room or closet that became a universal dumping ground (yes, that is definitely how I spent a weekend recently).
*Change your diet* Spring for the foods that have natural serotonin (the happy neurotransmitter). Spinach, oats, avocado, dark chocolate (sign me up!), and eggs are just a few of the tops. (see here for more: https://www.boldsky.com/health/wellness/2018/foods-that-can-beat-back-winter-blues-119746.html )
*Accept the season* Alas, winter will come now matter how much we try to stop it or avoid it. The plus side to this is that Christmas happens during winter, certain sports are played during winter, and what better season to curl up in a blanket and drink hot chocolate is better than winter?!
Stay positive and stay warm; there is a light at the end of the tunnel! (Literally-Spring=the start of longer days, so; you get the idea.)
