Your guide to the perfect Summer day in Southern Maine!

Last Sunday, I had a beach day in York, Maine-a place I haven't visited in what felt like forever. So if you're (safely) venturing out to Maine, here is your guide to my favorite spots Kittery, York & Portland (and a bonus section about Bar Harbor!)

Kittery

When you hear "Kittery", you probably think first of the outlets. But that's not all Kittery has to offer! Kittery is home to Kittery Trading Post (KTP), which is a great place to ge all your outdoor exploring necessities. Not really into the outdoors? Those outlets we just are going to be your new favorite place. Whether you're shopping/browsing solo, or with friends/family, there's a store for everyone!

York

As you head more North, you'll reach York. Widely known for their zoo, "York's Wild Kingdom" York has much more to offer. The big tourist attraction Nubble Lighthouse, sits between Long Sands Beach & Short Sands Beach. After a day at either of those beaches, cool off at Dunne's Ice Cream and enjoy a cone with a hilltop view of the lighthouse. Or, head to Goldenrod's-"Home of the Salt Water Taffy" and so much more!

Portland

As you head North, you'll run into Portland! From restaurant & shopping, bars & breweries, Portland has so much to offer. Like beer? Plan on staying in/around Portland and have a few at Novare Res in the Old Port. You'll thank me later. Speaking of beer, a fw minutes North of Portland is Freeport, and n Freeport is Maine Beer Company! (Along with the LL Bean headquarters & other outlets for you non-beer fans.)

Bar Harbor

As promised, here's a little sneak peak into one of Maine's most Northern parts. Acadia National Park has so much to offer-from hikes, trails and views. Bar Harbor's small & coastal downtown charm is also nothing to be passed up. Ben & Bill's Chocolate Emporium will not disappoint, either. I think I need a chocolate bar just thinking about it...

This concludes your brief Maine travel guide. If you are venturing out, please remember to be safe and smart aboot it-wear your mask and practice social distancing. But also remember to have fun!
